Meet Eboni
“Often times we get comfortable living in our trauma because it’s familiar, but breaking free is essential to becoming the person you’re meant to be.”
Experience & Counseling Philosophy
I’m a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), with a deep passion for empowering individuals and fostering healing. I hold both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work and am honored to be part of The Freed Mind Group. My journey in this field is rooted in a commitment to making a meaningful impact, which inspired me to create a nonprofit in 2019 that provides mental health support and essential resources to young girls in underserved communities.
Driven by a genuine passion for mental health, I’ve eagerly embraced my role as a school social worker over the past two years. I work closely to provide therapeutic support to adolescents navigating challenges such as low self-esteem, feelings of isolation, unresolved trauma, shifts in identity, family dynamics, bullying, and the pressures of academic and social expectations. Creating a supportive environment where we address these issues directly, while ensuring that every person feels seen and supported, is essential.
Over the course of my career working with both children and adults, my personal philosophy is that no matter our age, we carry the presence of our inner child with us, guiding our decisions and interactions every day. This simply means that although we make decisions based on logic, there are times that our inner child speaks or acts on our behalf. And that’s okay—as long as we take the necessary steps to properly heal and nurture that part of us; thereby increasing our awareness of the true impact childhood experiences have on each of us.
I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CBT, to help clients to connect their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I create a safe space where my clients can be their most authentic self—unapologetically, without having to think twice about judgment. I think it is important for potential clients to know that I’m not the “sit, nod, and agree” type of therapist; I’m here to offer a space for collaborative work that will foster healing and true life change. By blending empathy, compassion, and professionalism, my goal is to empower people through their struggles, fostering resilience and confidence as they work toward a more hopeful and fulfilling future. I am excited to make the process feel less like work and more like meaningful transformation.
Let’s Get Personal
YOU DID IT! You’ve taken the brave first step toward prioritizing your mental health! I'm honored to be part of your journey. My passion for supporting others comes from my own life experiences, including overcoming trauma and personal struggles through therapeutic work. These challenges have deeply shaped my purpose, leading me to specialize in childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, and relationships.
I know how hard it can be to heal the most vulnerable parts of yourself, especially when what's familiar may be rooted in past trauma. It's a courageous step to confront that, and I'm here to support you through it. As a sister to 7 siblings, I’ve learned the importance of understanding different personalities and navigating unique family dynamics. When my mom had triple bypass surgery, I dropped everything to take care of her, which showed me the strength of family bonds. I deeply value the relationships in my life and love sharing experiences over brunch or trying new foods. I’m also on a new journey with Christ, and my walk with Him has transformed my life in ways I never imagined.
Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. Finding the right fit is key to unlocking your best self, and I'm excited you're considering working with me. Together, we can create a safe, empowering space for your healing and growth.
